#MuralMonday: Trisha Abe

Our new pop-up location in Carl Zehr Square is right across from Trisha Abe's new DTK mural - and we couldn't be happier about it! We got to meet her this week to learn more about her and her unique illustration style.

Trish actually just became a full-time artist in December, and has had so much success within the last few months. Like many other creatives in the area, she found her art career after exploring other avenues in University. After finishing her science degree at UW, she continued painting on a part-time basis, and finally took the plunge into full-time last winter.

The new piece was commissioned by the City of Kitchener, and is one of Trish's first outdoor murals. She's been busy creating beautiful commissioned portraits, murals AND tattoos. Her newest creations have been her painted denim jackets that you can find in her shop at www.trishaabe.com.

Her canvas and print commissions are currently closed, but she has a number of projects and artistic explorations in the works. We can't wait to see what she does next!
